Pre-Test Journey

Three steps from learner to licence. Every booking link goes straight to the official service.

1. Find a local driving instructor

Choose a DVSA-approved driving instructor (ADI) — they display a green badge on the windscreen. Trainee instructors show a pink badge. Ask about pass rates, lesson length and whether they teach in a manual or automatic.

2. Theory test

  • Study The Highway Code and the official DVSA revision materials.
  • Practise multiple-choice questions and hazard perception clips regularly.
  • You need your provisional licence number to book. Your pass certificate is valid for 2 years.

3. Book your practical driving test

Book once you've passed your theory test and your instructor agrees you're ready. Only use the official GOV.UK service.
